Password Protected Directories
What are password-protected directories? What do they indicate for your website?
A password-protected directory is a folder that can't be accessed unless the proper login details are offered. This may be an entire Internet site or simply one page that is located in a subfolder. If you try to open such a directory, you'll see a web browser pop-up in which you will need to type a username as well as a password. In case you input the correct ones, you will be able to continue browsing the content with no need to do anything else. If the login details aren't right, however, you'll see a note that you are not allowed to see the content. When this function is enabled, you won't be able to open a file even when you have a direct link. The function is incredibly effective if you wish to restrict the access to some content or if you are developing a website and you don't want visitors to be able to access it before it is ready.
